Closing Actions & Due Dates

Actions can be marked as closed or completed by ticking the check mark ( or )to the left of the Title in the list or in the Status tab within the Detail View.

Immediately after closure, the RAG status is known as “Dwell” and will remain that way for the period indicated by Dwell Days in RAG Settings. This is to allow for recently closed items to be included in the list using the RAG filtering options.

Closing Undated or Single Date Actions

The checkbox for undated actions or actions with a single due date are colored blue .

Ticking this checkbox will set the RAG color to Grey.

If this is the last action within a Folder to be closed, then the Folder will also have its color set to Grey, but it will not close the Folder.

Closing Repeating Actions

The checkbox for undated actions or actions with a single due date are colored green .

Ticking this checkbox will mark the next due date as closed.

If there are no other due dates in the repeats tab, then the action will also be closed and the RAG color will be Grey.

If there are further due dates in the repeats tab, then the action will be colored to reflect the RAG status of the earliest un-closed date. Thus if the next due date is next week - then the colour will go Green (dependent upon the Days set in the RAG Settings tab).

If you wish to close a repeating action, without closing all the due dates listed inside the Repeats tab, then you can hold the Option key down whilst clicking the checkbox. All the unclosed dates within the action will be marked as indeterminate .

Closing Folder Items

If the Folder contains multiple dates (e.g. repeats or manually entered) then it will be treated in the same way as a Repeating Action above.

If the Folder just contains sub-Actions then closing it (by clicking the blue checkbox) will:

Mark the Folder as closed - with a RAG color of Grey.

Mark all contained Actions (and Folders) with a RAG color of Grey. Their checkboxes will be marked as indeterminate .

OSX Version Differences

Operating system versions earlier than Yosemite (OSX 10.10) use a checkbox with a different appearance:
