Create Actions and Sub-Actions

Actions and Sub-Actions can be created with simple keyboard commands, buttons and with menus.

Using the keyboard

The fastest way to input actions and sub-actions is via the keyboard.

If a title is being edited (edit it by selecting it and pressing Enter) then simply pressing Enter will create a new action directly underneath.

Pressing shift+Enter will create a new sub-Action.

Using Buttons

The buttons at the bottom of the action list (in all views) allow you to add a new action or sub-action immediately below the currently highlighted action.

Similarly, the drop-down menu in the “New” toolbar button has menu items for New Action and New Sub-Action.

Using Menus and Shortcuts

Menus

  1. New Action: Action Menu > New > Action
  2. New Sub-Action: Action Menu > New > Sub-Action

ShortCuts

  1. New Action: cmd+N
  2. New Sub-Action: cmd+shift+N

Notes

If there are already sub-actions included in the item being edited, then new sub-Actions are added to the bottom of the list.

If the Title is empty when pressing Enter then Actio assumes that no action was intended, and the row will be deleted.
